#### OPERATIONAL RESILIENCE AUDIT CERTIFICATION

 

To obtain an operational resilience audit (ORA) certification, one has to fulfil the following conditions:

1. Attend the relevant courses attached to the desired  operational resilience certification
2. Pass the qualifying certification examination
3. Send in the appropriate certification application fees
4. Send in the certification application form detailing at least 4 or 8 (depending on the desired certification) operational resilience experiences to the OR Body of Knowledge (BoK)

Certification would then be awarded once the independent certification body is satisfied that all conditions are met.

Certifications are then valid for one year, after which they need to be renewed yearly to ensure their validity.

- - Attend and complete the ORA-300: Operational Resilience Audit Specialist course and Pass the Qualifying ORAS examination  
      AND
    - Have at least one year of Operational Resilience/ business continuity/ crisis management/ IT disaster recovery and/or auditing professional experience and
    - Be able to describe at least **4 OR related Body of Knowledge** (BoK)

  #### How to be Certified
  
  
  
  
  
  To become an ORCS-certified professional, a candidate must complete four separate processes:
  
    - Formal Education (attend and complete the ORA-300: Operational Resilience Implementer course)
    - Examination (attempt and pass the Qualifying ORAS examination)
    - Show proof of at least one year of verifiable OR or ORA experience (Refer to the application form for further explanation)
    - Make a payment of SGD 75 (non-refundable) application processing fee.
  
  #### Formal Education
  
    - Sign up for the course and complete the four modules
    - Pay the Course Fees before starting the eLearning course
    - Be assigned login credentials to start the eLearning
    - Answer quizzes at the end of each sub-module
    - Complete the course within 30 days from issuance of userid.
    - Be competent in Competency Level CL 1: Foundation (OR) and Competency Level CL 2: Intermediate (OR)
    - Be awarded ORCP certification.
  
  #### Examination
  
  To sit for the Examination, a candidate must:
  
    - Be competent in the Competency Level CL 1OR: Foundation (OR) and CL 2OR: Intermediate (OR), including the 4 OR Body of Knowledge (OR BoK)
    - Attempt the online practice quiz at least once
  
  #### Certification
  
  To be issued a certificate, a candidate must:
  
    - Pass the ORAS qualifying examination with a required passing score of 75% out of 100- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
    - Submit a non-refundable Application Processing Fee
    - Submit the Certification Application Form to certification team
    - Describe at least **four (out of the fifteen)** OR Body of Knowledge (BoK)
    - Select two references for each BoK\* (references may be repeated for all **four** OR BoK

#### How to be Certified

To become an ORAE-certified professional, a candidate must complete four separate processes:

- Formal Education 
    - Attend and complete the ORA-5000 Operational Resilience  Expert Auditor course.
- Examination 
    - Attempt and pass the Qualifying ORAE examination
- Show proof of at least three years of verifiable OR-BCM-CM-IT DR and/or audit experience.
- Be able to describe **at least eight of fifteen OR related Body of Knowledge (OR BoK)**
- Make a payment of SGD 150 (non-refundable) application processing fee.

To become an ORCE-certified professional, a candidate must complete four separate processes:

- Submit the ORCE application form to the certification team for review by the independent Certification Review Committee member.
- Complete review and approval by the Certification Review Committee member (which may take six to eight weeks)
- Invite to accept the ORCE award

#### Formal Education

- Sign up for the ORA-5000 course and complete the four modules (M1 to M4), or
- If you completed the ORA-300 Implementer course earlier, sign up for the ORA-400 course and complete the two modules (M3 - M4).
- Pay the Course Fees before starting the course.
- Be assigned login credentials to start the eLearning for Module 1 (for those taking ORA-5000) only
- Answer quizzes at the end of each sub-module of Module 1
- Continue to complete Modules 2, 3 and 4 within the schedule.
- Sit for the ORAE qualifying examination at the end of the course.

#### Examination

To sit for the Examination, a candidate must:

- Be competent in the Competency Level (CL): 
    - Foundation(CL 1)
    - Intermediate (CL 2)
    - Advanced (CL 3)  
      including the eight OR Body of Knowledge (OR BoK)
- Attempt the online practice quiz at least once

#### Certification

To be issued a certificate, a candidate must:

- Pass the ORAE qualifying examination with a required passing score of 75% out of 100- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
- Submit a non-refundable Application Processing Fee
- Submit the Certification Application Form to certification team

#### Overview of ORA-5000 Operational Resilience Expert Auditor \[ORA-5\] Course

While professionals generally still prefer to attend an onsite classroom-based course with a facilitator or instructor being present, (electronic) online video face-to-face workshop practices are fast gaining momentum as a participant prefer to acquire the learning over some time.  The other preference is reducing travelling as remote work or attending courses in the office is becoming the norm.

#### Operational Resilience Audit for Financial Institutions

Post-COVID-19, various regulatory developments have impacted the financial services industry, such as refining the management of disruptions, increasing interconnectedness and third-party/ outsourcing dependencies and dependencies on IT.  This emphasises that operational resilience will remain a significant concern for the board, regulators, policymakers, investors and customers.

The challenge is organizations' approaches to dealing with differing regulations globally. In terms of resilience structure, organizations have looked at their governance frameworks and ensured they are fit for purpose. They utilise stress and scenario testing to assess their capabilities, which is more than their existing business continuity and crisis management programs.

The entire process is redesigned with pre-reading (at your own time and pace) and preparatory work (rather than one hour doing the work in class) supported by proprietary guidance notes. In fact, after several cohorts, the content from those who had attended our other advanced-level courses highlights a better way to provide the same outcome.

**Instructors**: Note that instructors delivering the modules will remain the same as those providing the onsite training.  At BCM Institute, most instructors still practise BCM and risk management professionals (in this case, operational resilience and operational risk) with a minimum of 12 years of direct BCM experience as they hold regional or global resilience responsibilities.

**International Participation**: Another significant change will be the participation of more international delegates compared to the traditional majority of Asian participants.  Be expected to discuss and work as teams from around the world.
