Getting Ready for Your Crisis Communication Certification Examination by Starting with the Terminology

BCM Institute welcome your enrollment in our Crisis Communication [CM] certification course.  At this juncture, you are about to attempt your practice [electronic] examination. Although, you may not have started the course, it may be useful for  you to start with some preliminary reading on the terminology to be taught during the course.  So, this blog will give you a head start on where do you start.

Preparing for Your Crisis Communication Course & Certification Examination

When you are reading this section, you should be enrolled and probably just or about to receive your personalized userid and password to access the examination portal. To assist you to prepare for the actual [online] examination, you may want to start doing some preliminary reading on Crisis Communication and its related terminology that will be taught during the course.  So, where do you start?

If you are attempting the following Crisis Communication (CC) certification examination after completing either the CC-200: Crisis Communication Planner, CC-300: Crisis Communication Implementer, CC-400: Crisis Communication Manager or CC-5000: Crisis Communication Expert Implementer course, you should include this as part of your revision preparation. You can start reading through the terminologies starting from the Body of Knowledge or BOK 1 to BOK 7.

As you are enrolled, you should be able to identify the course name and code that you are attending.  Proceed to locate in the appended table below which will direct you to the Competency Level or CL for Crisis Communication (CC) that you will need to review.

1. Foundation Level

CC-200: Crisis Communication Planner

 

CL 1 CCThe course offered by BCM Institute at the Foundation level course.  It is indicated as Competency Level [CL] One [1] Crisis Communication [CC] or CL 1CC. The code "C" tagged behind CL 1 indicate the domain of the Business Continuity discipline.  This is BCM Institute's basic certification program which upon successful completion will allow you to be awarded the CM Certified Planner (CCCP).

As for the CCCP examination, the format will be fifty multiple choice questions, and there will be no deduction for incorrect answers. The duration of the CCCP exam will be one and a half hours.  Note: This course content forms Day 1 of the CC-300 course.  We do recommend that the CC-300 be taken instead for completeness.

The summary of the terms used during the preparation of the Crisis Communication Certified Planner (CCCP) examination can be found here: CL 1CC. For this competency level, you will be reading through the terminology in 7 areas of the Body of Knowledge or the BOK 1 to BOK 7.

2. Intermediate Level

CC-300: Crisis Communication Implementer

CL 2 CCAt the intermediate level course, the successful completion of the program and assessment will lead you to be certified as a Crisis Communication Certified Specialist (CCCS). Again, the examination format is 100 multiple choice questions with no deduction for incorrect answers. The duration for either the examination will be two and a half hours from the start of the exam.

The summary of the terms used during the preparation of the Crisis Communication Certified Planner (CCCP) examination can be found here: CL 2CC.  Do take note that when you are requested to read CL 2CC, it is assumed that CL 2CC is part of the examination.

3. Advanced Level

CM-400: Crisis Management Manager/CM-5000: Crisis Management Expert Implementer

CMCEFinally, at the institute's advanced level course for Crisis Management or CL 3CC, which is the advanced level, BCM Institute will be offering the Crisis Communication Certified Expert (CCCE). Here, the examination format will be 150 questions, and the duration of the examination will be three and a half hours. All examinations will be taken under an invigilator and the passing mark will be 75% of the total number of questions.

The preparation of the Crisis Communication Certified Expert (CCCE) examination pertaining to the terminologies used during the CC-400 (which is a 2-day course after attempting the CC-300 in an earlier date) or CC-5000 course, can be found in CL 3CC.  Do take note that when you are requested to read CL 3CC, it is assumed that CL 1CC and CL 2CC  are included as part of the reading for the CCCE examination.

What is Next?

Do note the reading on the CL will give you a good understanding on the terminology that is used in the CM discipline.  The rest of the learning for the preparation of the examination will be from the content of the course.  Happy Reading !!
