What Are You Required to Complete for Module 2 of the Blended Learning Programme?

Module 2: Facilitated Online Workshop

To complete Module 2 of the CM-5000 Blended Learning (BL-CM-5) / CM-300 Blended Learning (BL-CM-3) course, participants must attend a walkthrough of the 3 phases of the CM Implementation process within two sessions.  These are:

1. [M2-S1] Session 1A: Crisis Risk Assessment (CRA)
2. [M2-S1] Session 1B: Crisis Management Strategy (CMS)
3. [M2-S2] Session 2: Crisis Management Plan (CMP)

Note that Module 2 is also Module 2 for participants attending the Blended Learning CM-5000 course [BL-CM-5].

Before attending the two facilitated online workshops, the typical activities to complete the three phases (CRA, CMS, CM Plan) are appended below.

Walkthrough of Module 2 and Session 1 & 2

Most activities are executed offline except for the two mandatory Facilitated Online workshops.  The typical sequence of activities within the module includes the following:

Once the course schedule for Module 2 Session 1 [M2-S1] and Session 2 {M2-S2] is confirmed, you should have been notified and given access to eCampus.  You will be notified to download three templates and have your first attempt at completing the specific template, namely CRA and CMS for Module 2 Session 1 [M2-S1] and CM Plan for Module 2 Session 2 {M2-S2]. 

Pre-readings will be provided as they are short blog articles and accessible via the links previewed in eCampus. Participants are advised to read them before each session as it serves as  'bite-sized' background information, allowing participants to familiarize themselves with the concepts to be discussed.  It would also assist participants in completing their assignment in the following  1 hour online session.

You already have access to three CM templates and proceed to complete the Crisis Risk Assessment (CRA), Crisis Management Strategy (CMS) and Crisis Management Plan (CM Plan) before attending the online workshop after M2-S2 proceed to submit these three templates as part of the assignment submission for Module 2.

Note that there is "guidance notes" made available to assist you when you are attempting to complete the templates.  Remember to record any questions and to raise them during the facilitated online session.

Participants are required to attend two (2) online workshop sessions (three hours per session).  All sessions are compulsory and run at the pre-determined online schedule. There would not be a repeat or substitute session for anyone who missed it.  The session is:

2. [M2-S2] Session 2: Crisis Management Plan (CM Plan)

Complete Template (Assignment) Before Attending Facilitated Online Workshop

Supported by Guidance Notes.  What if you are completing the template and do not understand the purpose or requirement of the field that you are completing?  Refer to the "guidance notes" to provide a reasonably comprehensive explanation for each field as required in the template.

Objectives of Completing Templates.  The objective is to fully understand the purpose and requirement of each entry in the CM template before you attend the corresponding online workshop.

You may wonder why you are doing the assignment when the lesson is not yet conducted.  It will also allow you to complete the fields you know and contextualize your business environment before the online workshop. 

When you have attended the facilitated online workshop, the value is to ask related questions to the experienced instructors during any of the two Facilitated Online sessions.

• In completing the Crisis Risk Assessment (CRA) template, you are expected to remove those threats and crisis scenario that is not relevant to your organisation.  Choose two crisis scenarios and use them to complete the rest of the template before M2-S1.
• When writing the Crisis Management Strategy (CMS), do attempt to select two crisis scenarios (not threats) as part of your submission before M2-S1. 
• Likewise, for the CM Plan, have two sets of procedures regarding the two crisis scenarios you selected before M2-S2.
  
  

Assignment for CRA: Do note that you should have completed the entries for the CRA templates by striking off the threats or crisis scenarios not relevant to your organisation before you attend the M2-S1 online session.

Assignment for CMS: Select two crisis scenarios (not threats) and complete two crisis management strategy entries before you attend the M2-S1 online session.

Assignment for CM Plan: Develop crisis procedures on the CM plan template based on the two crisis scenarios you selected before attending the M2-S2 online session.

At the end of Module 2 Session 2, you are required to submit the three completed assignments (CM templates) to the Facilitator via eCampus:

1. [M2-S1] Crisis Risk Assessment (CRA)
2. [M2-S1] Crisis Management Strategy (CMS)
   • Complete CRA and CMS template before attending M2-S1
   • Submit after completing the M2-S2 online workshop
     
     
3. [M2-S2] Crisis Management Plan (CM Plan)
   • Complete the CM Plan template before attending the M2-S2 online workshop
   • Submit after attending the M2-S2 online workshop (Upload this assignment together with the two earlier assignments)

Submit your three completed assignments to the facilitator within two calendar days [12 pm GMT +8] after the Module 2 Session 2 [M2-S2] Facilitated Online session.
