Description of Module 4 Course

New call-to-actionThe Module 4 helps participants understand the key elements for managing a crisis communication programme.  It starts with training and awareness, identify the types of audience and their training needs, establish functional and awareness training requirements and develop corporate awareness and training methodologies and programs.

Session 1: CC Framework, Structure and Program Management
  1. Maintain CC Training and Awareness
  2. Review CC Programme
Session 2: CC Integrated and Simulation Exercises
  1. Conduct Advanced Level CC Testing and Exercising
  2. Design CC Exercise and Test Profile
  3. Design and Develop CC Integrated Exercise
  4. Design and Develop CC Simulation Exercise
CC Framework, Structure and Program Management

This module reviews the overall CC framework and clearly defines the structure (as discussed in Module 2), event flow and roles and responsibilities (as discussed in Module 3).

The competency to design and develop an organisation-wide CC training, awareness and exercising programme becomes crucial to ensure the effectiveness of the CC plan.

It creates a common understanding for the definition of crisis management, emergency management, business continuity management and addresses CC testing and exercising functionalities and CC awareness campaigns.

CC Integrated and Simulation Exercises

It does in-depth with the development of Integrated exercises.  It is an advanced testing tool is introduced to the student in this module. Key test objectives are discussed, and examples are given on how integrated tests might be conducted to achieve a higher level of resiliency in the organisation.

This module describes CC simulation exercises and how these differ from other forms of tests and exercises. Tips on how to design simulation exercises will be shared as well as how these tests can be assessed. A simple template will be used in this segment of the course to help students understand the process of simulation test design.

Why Attend this Course?

The major take-away from this course is to practicum that are embedded into the four modules.  Any reading and assignment required will be done off-line.

As the traditional CC function is often parked with corporate communication, public relation and sometimes, with human resources, it is proven that the appointment holders focus on the "day job" or what ids described as "peace-time."  The lack of management and constant training, awareness and exercising of the key components of the CC programme becomes apparent when the CC plan is executed during a crisis.
