Those of us who spend our business lives immersed in the Business Continuity Management industry will usually encounter and have to swim through a sea of acronyms. Meanwhile, when implementing a BCM project or managing the BCM program, we are constantly seeking the support and cooperation of colleagues who are often confused by those same acronyms. here is the list of acronyms http://www.bcmpedia.org/wiki/Acronyms
We usually start with "BCM" and "BCP", are they the same? Is BCP the acronym of Business Continuity Planning or Business Continuity Plan? What is actually RTO and RPO? and is it MTPD or the old MTPoD? and the list goes on ....
We can make understanding easier simply by using real terms instead of acronyms. But unless we can clearly define those fundamental business continuity terms, we still risk confusing our potential supporters and partners.
For those who would like to have a hard copy of the definition next to you, you may want to have a copy of the BCM dictionary.
