Overview
At this stage, you would have completed the "Testing and Exercising" module of the BCM-5000 course. This series is part of the reading for participants embarking on a BCM implementation project using a combination of IMDA funded training to develop, implement and finalize its BCM program for an organisation.
When funding is allocated from the Singapore Government, and incorporated as part of the overall BCM project, one of the most important aspect is complete and pass the examination component of the project.
1. Why Is There A Need for an Examination?
- The examination and passing it is part of the requirement in order for your organisation to claim for the Funding reimbursement thereafter.
- Depending on your organisation's type (SME or non SME) and your age group, the funding varies from 70% - 90% funding capped at SGD 3,000 reimbursement per person.
2. But I am only doing BCM part-time, why should I be subjected to an examination?
- We note that as a BCM team member, most often you would be doing BCM on a part-time basis and would not be practicing it after the examination. But attempting the examination and passing it would allow you to get an international certification validating your competency in BCM.
- The international certification puts you in good stead in future if you do would like to switch into a full time role. Past graduates are know to gain jobs as senior managers in retail e.g. Marina Bay Sands and financial institutes e.g. SwissRe.
- The international certification also allows the organisation to show proof of its BCM team competency when they are being audited.
3. What Is this examination about?
- The examination also known as the Qualifying Business Continuity Certified Expert (BCCE) is a 3.5 hours invigilated online examination consisting of 150 questions. Here's more information about the examination.
4. What can I do to prepare for the examination?
