Overview of CM-420 Initiating Crisis Management Program
The CM-420 “Initiating CM Program” is a 2-day course (onsite) or four 1/2-day sessions (online) designed for professionals appointed to lead the crisis management team and plan the implementation.
This course was developed initially as competency-based training based on the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) requirement.
This course is HRD Corp claimable. Click the icon to find out more about HRD Corp funding.
This course provides a basic understanding of crisis management and proceeds to initiate crisis management planning and establish the crisis management framework and policy.
Consider In-house Training Options
In-house training is preferred to be conducted over four 1/2-day sessions (online). The reason is that the participants can work as a team to complete the training by contextualising their work environment.
The experienced CM instructor will be able to mentor and guide the team in customising the content to align with the organisation's requirements.
The course explicitly targets management with crisis management responsibilities, designated organizational CM managers, business unit CM coordinators and anyone responsible for implementing the framework, policy, structure and commitment to enable effective BCM project management.
Learning Outcome
Understand and be able to:
- Appreciate the importance of project scope management.
- Apply the techniques when initiating a CM Program for the Organisation.
- Comprehend the corporate and business profile, mission and MBCO of the Organisation.
- Appreciate the organisational setup (commitment and establishment) required to implement a CM project within an Organisation.
- Derive the Risk Management (Risk Matrix) Table and interpret a fully completed one.
- Recognise how an Organisation determines its Risk Appetite and how it is being managed.
- Revise the inputs (factors) required at the various risk levels for the seven impact areas for the “Descriptor for the Risk Impact and Impact Area" Table.
Certification
Currently, no CM certification is attached to the course as this course aims to guide the Organisation's CM Coordinator and the CM Project Management team on implementing effective project management.
However, you may want to consider the advanced-level training with certification offered by BCM Institute. Click the CM-5000 icon to find out more.
