Getting Ready for Your Audit Course and Certification Examination by First Knowing the Terminology

BCM Institute welcomes your enrollment in our auditor certification course. You will attempt your practice [electronic] examination at this juncture.

Although you may not have started the course, it may be helpful for you to start with some preliminary reading on the terminology to be taught during the course.  So, this blog will give you a head start on where you start and the preparation for the terminology to be used.

Preparing for Your BCM Audit Course & Certification Examination

When you read this section, you should have received your personalized userid and password to access the examination portal. To assist you in preparing for the actual examination, you may want to start doing some preliminary reading on Business Continuity Management and its related terminology that will be taught during the course.  So, where do you start?

New call-to-actionIf you are attempting the following BCM-8030: ISO 22301 BCMS Auditor or the BCM-8530 ISO22301 BCMS Lead Auditor examination, you can start reading through the terminologies starting from the Body of Knowledge or BOK 1 to BOK 7.

Proceed to locate in the appended table below, which will direct you to the Competency Level or CL for Business Continuity Management (BCM) audit you will need to review. 

Summary of Examination Preparation

This is the section that highlights the preparation for answering questions for terminology.

1. Foundation Level

BCM-200: ISO 22301 BCMS Planner

BCCP CL 1The course is offered by BCM Institute at the Foundation level course. 

It is indicated as Competency Level [CL] One [1] Business Continuity [BC] or CL 1B.

The code "B" tagged behind CL 1 indicates the domain of the Business Continuity discipline.  This is BCM Institute's basic certification program, which will allow you to be awarded the BCM Certified Planner (BCCP) upon successful completion.

As for the BCCP examination, the format will be fifty multiple-choice questions, and there will be no deduction for incorrect answers. The duration for the BCCP exam will be one and a half hours.

BCCP Business Continuity Certified Planner Certification (Size 50)The summary of the terms used during the preparation of the Business Continuity Certified Planner (BCCP) examination can be found here: CL 1B. For this competency level, you will read through the terminology in 7 areas of the Body of Knowledge or the BOK 1 to BOK 7.

2. Intermediate Level

BCM-8030: ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management System Auditor

BCCA CL 2ACompleting the program and assessment at the intermediate level course will lead you to be certified as a BC Certified Auditor (BCCA)

Again, the examination format is 100 multiple-choice questions with no deduction for incorrect answers. The duration for either the examination will be two and a half hours from the start.

BCCA Business Continuity Certified Auditor Certification The summary of the terms used during the preparation of BC Certified Auditor (BCCA) examination can be found here CL 2A.  Do note that when you are requested to read CL 2A, it is assumed that CL 2A is part of the examination.

3. Advanced Level

BCM-8530: ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management System Lead Auditor

BCCLA CL3AFinally, at the institute's advanced level course for Crisis Communication or CL 3A, which is the advanced level, BCM Institute will be offering the BC Certified Expert (BCCE). Here, the examination format will be 150 questions, and the duration of the examination will be three and a half hours. All examinations will be taken under an invigilator, and the passing mark will be 75% of the questions.

BCCLA Business Continuity Certified Lead Auditor Certification The preparation of the BC Certified Lead Auditor (BCCLA) Certification examination of the terminologies used during the course can be found in CL 3A.  

Do note that when you are requested to read CL 3A, it is assumed that CL 1B and CL 2B  are included as part of the reading for the BC Certified Lead Auditor (BCCLA) Certification Examination.
