[WSQ-BCM-410] Course Overview: Initiating BCM Program

This course covers the provision of inputs to project scope definition, executing project scope management processes and procedures and identifying potential scope issues.

The content of the BCM-410 course aims to train the participants to be able to apply project scope management techniques, so as to be able to implement project scope management plan and apply scope change control procedures; and apply these techniques in the initiating of a Business Continuity Management (BCM) program for their organisation.

The BCM-410 “Initiating BCM Program” is a 2-day course or four 1/2-day sessions aimed to train the participants to be able to apply project scope management techniques, to be able to implement project scope management plans and use scope change control procedures; and apply these techniques in the initiating of a Business Continuity (BCM) program for their organisation.

For in-house training, it is preferred to be conducted over four 1/2-day sessions.  The reason is that the participants can work as a team to complete the training contextualizing their actual work environment.

The course is explicitly targeted at management with BCM responsibilities, designated organizational BCM managers, business unit BCM coordinators and anyone responsible for implementing the framework, policy, structure and commitment to enable an effective BCM project management.

Learning Outcome

Understand and be able to:

  1. Appreciate the importance of project scope management.
  2. Apply the techniques in initiating a BCM Program for the Organisation.
  3. Comprehend the corporate and business profile, mission and MBCO of the Organisation.
  4. Appreciate the organisational setup (commitment and establishment) required to implement a BCM project within an Organisation.
  5. Derive the Risk Management (Risk Matrix) Table and interpret a fully-completed Risk Matrix Table.
  6. Recognise how an Organisation determines its Risk Appetite and how it is being managed.
  7. Revise the inputs (factors) required at the various risk levels for the seven impact areas for the “Descriptor for the Risk Impact and Impact Area" Table.register_now1

Certifications

Currently, no BCM certification is attached to the course as this course aims to guide the  Organisation BCM Coordinator (BCM Manager) and the Project Management team on implementing effective project management.
