What SkillsFuture Funding is Available for the Business Continuity Management Course?

All Singaporeans and Singapore PRs attending as self-sponsored or company-sponsored are eligible for course fee funding from Skillsfuture Singapore.

Who is Eligible?

All Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs) are eligible for Skillsfuture Funding.

The funding is applicable for both individual and corporate-sponsored.

What is SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy?

The SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy recognises that mid-career Singaporeans may face more significant challenges in training.

It provides additional subsidies to encourage them to upskill and reskill to adapt to changing job requirements. Click the icon to learn more.

What is Skillsfuture Credit?

SkillsFuture Credit aims to encourage individual ownership of skills development and lifelong learning.

Introduced in 2015, the SkillsFuture Credit Scheme provides an opening credit of S$500 to all Singaporeans aged 25 and above. Click the icon to learn more.

From 1 April 2020, eligible Singaporeans can start using their one-off SkillsFuture Credit top-up. A one-off SkillsFuture Credit top-up of $500 will be provided to every Singapore Citizen aged 25 years and above.

The funding is also applicable for BL-B-5 Blended Learning or online courses.

What is the BCM-5000 Course?

The ISO22301 Business Continuity Management System Expert Implementer course, better known as course code BCM-5000, is the most comprehensive course that provides the three levels of competency, "Know-Do-Manage." Click the icon to learn more.

It applies to the ISO 22301 standard, and professionals are upgrading their BCM programme. This course is available as Blended Learning (100% Online) and Hybrid Learning (50% Online for Modules 1 and 2 with 50% onsite for Modules 3 and 4).

Note that the funding only applies to the online or blended learning course.

It grounds the participants with the necessary BCM fundamentals and progressively works.

Eligibility Criteria for SME Status for Funding Support

Sponsoring SMEs organisation applying for up to 90% funding support must meet the following criteria as defined by Enterprise Singapore or ESG’s definition:

Having been registered and operating in Singapore
Having a minimum 30% local shareholding and having a group annual sales turnover of not more than S$100 million or
Group employment size of not more than 200 employees.
Group tracing includes all corporate shareholder(s) holding more than 50% of the total shareholding of the company and any subsequent corporate parents and all subsidiaries of the company.

Eligibility Criteria for Applicant

Be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Trainee must be an employee of the sponsoring organisation.
The sponsoring organisation must be incorporated or registered in Singapore.

Note for SME-funded Organisation: Up to 90% of the net payable course and certification fees, capped at $3,000 per trainee, regardless of the participants are above or below 40 years of age.

Condition

The trainee must complete at least 75% of the training course attendance within twelve (12) months from the commencement date.
The trainee must complete and pass all examinations required by BCM Institute to achieve the final certification status.
Payment must be made to BCM Institute before attending the course.

1. Funding Applicable to In-house Training for BCM Team, Unit BCM Coordinators and Internal Auditors

Yes, you can. This course can be conducted in-house for your BCM coordinators and internal auditors.

You would like your unit-level BCM coordinators or internal auditors to conduct internal reviews or audits of other business units within your organisation.
Do speak to our Singapore training team to conduct it in-house. The content can be contextualised to your organisation and even used as an annual update to your BCM plan.
It is possible as long as at least eight confirmed participants are enrolled for the course.

2. Why is the certification level published to receive BCCP certification

When reading the SSG portal, I noticed that I am attending an advanced-level BCCLA certification course, which is reflected as BCCP.

Based on the course [BCM-8530] that you have just enquired about specifically for the SkillsFuture funding, what are the additional questions you may ask?

Why Am I only Awarded the BCCP certification after completing the BCM-8530 course and passing the BCCLA examination?

One of the conditions for the claim of the SkillsFuture funding, the required for funding to take place is to be awarded the Business Continuity Certified Planner or BCCP (Audit) certification.

Hence, you would get the Business Continuity Certified Planner or BCCP certification once you pass the Qualifying Examination attached to the courses.

Meanwhile, as you have successfully completed expert-level training and passed the exam, you can apply for your higher certification concerning your business continuity management experience.

What BCM Certification Can I Attain?

Upon completion of the ISO22301 BCM Lead Auditor course or course code BCM-8530 and the successful passing of the BCM Institute's professional examination (BCCLA), you will be allowed to apply for the following certification, and they are:

Business Continuity Certified Planner (BCCP)
Business Continuity Certified Specialist (BCCA)
Business Continuity Certified Expert (BCCLA)

What Do I Need to Do to Get the SkillsFuture Funding?

To be eligible for the SkillsFuture funding, you would need to:

Make the payment according to the invoice issued after funding *.
Attend 75% of the course.
Pass the accompanying qualifying exam and be awarded the Business Continuity Certified Planner (BCCP) certification.
Funding only applies to this course's 100% online or Blended Learning version.

*BCM Institute course administrator will be registering the funding on your behalf. Please provide your Identification Number and Birthdate to facilitate the registration process.

What If I Fail the Examination?

If you did not meet the 75% passing requirement for the examination, you would be provided one complimentary re-examination to be attempted within 30 days of your first exam.

Within that time, our certification department will assist you by providing you with which of the seven body of knowledge or BoK you are weak at.

Subsequent attempts after 2nd examination would be payable at SGD 250 per try. The exam is now e-Protored via ZOOM.

Based on our track record running this course for more than a decade, do note that it is rare that we have participants who fail in their 2nd attempt if they spent the time paying attention and studying the handbook and electronic information provided on our electronic Wikipedia.
