Nai Ming lee

Nai Ming is a certified practitioner of crisis and project management, with 17 years of experience in operational environments in both public and private sectors, across multicultural and multinational settings. Grounded in emergency response and incident management as a front-line fire and rescue officer and oil spill response specialist, he has, over the course of his professional pursuit, performed a variety of roles which span technical and managerial functions. 

Over the course of his career, Nai Ming responded to numerous oil spills from shipping and upstream exploration and production - most notably, the ‘Montara’ and ‘Macondo’ well control incidents. He has performed in the capacities of a field supervisor, mobilisation manager, and technical advisor. He is currently the Project Manager for the Global Initiative for Southeast Asia (IMO-IPIECA GISEA) Project, a collaboration between the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and IPECA, the global oil and gas industry association to advance environmental and social performance.

    • Operations management in an emergency response organisation;
    • Operational risk management and contingency planning;
    • Conversance with Incident Command System (ICS);
    • Design and delivery of training and exercises on wide-ranging subjects in oil pollution preparedness, and incident and crisis management;
    • Stakeholder communication and government-industry outreach; and
    • Familiarity with international tiered preparedness and response framework and maritime regulatory regime
