IB [BL-CC] [3-5] Module 2 Assignment Requirement

This is the requirement for assignments for the BL-CC-3/5 Module 2 blended training. 

It spells out the submission of three assignments (supported by downloading the 3 sets of templates) for Module 2 of the BL-CC-3 or 5 blended learning course or the CC-300 or CC-5000 onsite training.

Assignment 1

 

IB [BL-CC] [3-5] [M2] Assignment RequirementBlended Learning.  There is a requirement for the participants to download and complete one assignment, namely the CRA template. 

As for the second part of the lesson, the key is to introduce to the participant the BIA template, the key is to for them to find out more from their colleagues managing the BCM program. Remember, they should know what are the critical business functions and their time sensitivity are crucial for their communication decision during a crisis.

Instructor to note that the participants are expected to complete the CRA template before attending the course. The instruction (as guidance notes) to participants is as appended below.

After a walkthrough of the content during your online workshop, the participants are expected to present their completed CRA template during the online workshop for discussion.

The expectation of Submission:  The participant is expected to complete CRA template Part 1-1; 2-1; 3-1 of the CRA template.  Participants can view supporting tables, documents to complete the templates.

 

Onsite Training. Participants will be notified to download the five sets of templates with the links issued by the Program Admin team before the workshop.  This assignment is completed during the class.

The objective of Module 2 Session 1 [M2-S1]

    • Identify potential crisis scenarios (threats) that may disrupt the organisation causing a crisis communication response

    • Remember that there is a tendency to identify threats that are "disaster-type" and it is important for you to focus the participants on the "crisis scenario-type" threats

  • Business Impact Analysis (BIA)
    • Walkthrough the BIA templates with the participants and shows them the usefulness of this report to an organizational crisis.  It is not a requirement for this training course.

Assignment Requirement (CRA)

Participants have access to Guidance Notes when they are completing the CRA template prior to attending your online lesson. Click the icon on the right to view the Guidance Notes for CRA.

The additional notes appended below is provided to them during the Module 2 introduction.  It includes the Guidance Notes from BCMPedia to guide them to complete each entry in the RAR templates and the note below as instruction for the minimum requirement when submitting their assignment.

Business Impact Analysis (BIA)
Do note that the participants are NOT provided with this set of instructions to complete their CRA templates.

Walkthrough the list of several business functions from your business unit and select at least two business functions that you think maybe critical to your organisation to complete the entire template.  You can also choose business functions from the other tasks within your organisation because the functions are not critical.

 

Assignment 2

 

Blended Learning.  There is a requirement for the participants to download and complete the two assignments, namely CCS and CC Plan.

Instructor to note that the participants are expected to complete these two templates before attending the course. The instruction to participants is as appended below.

After a walkthrough of the content during your online workshop, the participants are expected to present their completed CRA and BIA templates to the online workshop for discussion.

The expectation of Submission:  The participant is expected to complete:

  • CCS:  Complete the entire CCS template.  The participant is expected to transfer at least two critical business functions (CBFs) identified in the BIA assignment template and update the BCS template starting with the CBFs.
  • CC Plan:  Complete the required portion of Part C of the PD templates as part of the assignment before starting the online workshop (to list at least two critical business functions).  Build a call tree "Annex 3B: Business Unit Call Tree" and note that call trees are now available on WhatsApp Group or the Corporate Notification system.

Onsite Training. Participants would have downloaded Session 2 as they are expected to download all five sets of templates before the start of Session 1 with the links issued by the Program Admin team before the workshop.  This assignment is completed during the class.

Participants are expected to complete the three PowerPoint slides templates downloaded from the eCampus and complete them as assignments before attending the class for blended learning. If it is brick and mortar onsite training, they will do the assignment in class. In addition, they are expected to present the RAR, BIA, and BCS reports to the class, acting as a management committee.

Remind the student to submit their completed workbook and 3 PowerPoint reports as assignments after the class. For onsite, there is no requirement to submit assignments except to present in class.

Module 2 Session 2 [M2-S2]

  • Crisis Communication Strategy (CCS)
    • Identify and implement CC strategies for the managing of the crisis.

  • Crisis Communication Plan (CC Plan)
    • Develop effective and functional comprehensive continuity plans and procedure

  • Testing and Exercising (TE)
    • Be familiar with the testing and exercising documentary requirement
    • Note that TE templates are introduced and not taught.  It will be used in Module 4.

Business Continuity Strategy (BCS)
Do note that the participants are provided with this set of instructions to complete their BCS template.

Transfer the critical business functions (CBFs) identified in the BIA assignment template and update the BCS template starting with the CBFs. Finally, complete the three parts of the template using at least two critical business functions.

Assignment Submission Requirement

  • Complete at least two critical business functions for every page of the BCS templates.  Note that there should be a "dash" or "-" for every blank entry.

 

CC Plan Development (CC Plan)
Do note that the participants are provided with this set of instructions to complete their CC Plan template.

  • Download PD "Part C" for assignment.
  • Complete the required portion of Part C as part of the assignment before starting the online workshop (to list the recovery procedures for at least two critical business functions).
  • Build a call tree using "Annex 3B: Business Unit Call Tree"

  • Submit these two recovery procedures for two critical business functions and a call tree as the assignment

Testing and Exercising (TE)
Do note that the participants are provided with instructions NOT to complete this set of TE templates.

Submission of Assignment

New call-to-actionAssignment:  Note that the M2-S2 instructor will be assigned to review and comment on the eCampus email. 

The participants are expected to submit two working days after your M2-S2 session, and the Program Admin team will be notifying you of the availability of the assignments to be reviewed. 

As a guide for M2-S1 and M2-S2 instructors, the participants will download their templates from this Module that you are viewing now and upload them back to this portal.  The rule is to submit two working days after your session.

Remind the student to submit their completed Assignment as assignments after the class.  The deadline is two calendar days after the Module 2 Session 2 class.

Onsite Training.  There is no requirement to submit assignments except to present in class.

Blended Learning. Participants are required to submit (upload) the three assignments via the "Upload" module in eCampus, and this is to be reviewed by the Facilitator.
