Newbies: If you are new to this industry and want to learn as much as possible about BCM, you should attend the BCM-5000 and be prepared to be awarded the "Planner" level certification.
Pre-requisite
Frequently asked, there is no pre-requisite to attend this advanced-level course, and you do not need to attend the BCM-300 course before this BCM-5000 course. This is the only difference:
- Professionals with more than three years of experience: If you completed the course and passed the certification examination, participants with verifiable three years or more of BCM-related experience can proceed to apply for the expert-level certification.
- Professionals with more than one year but less than three years of experience: You can proceed to apply for the specialist-level certification. Do note that when you have achieved three or more years of BCM-related expertise, you do not need to sit for any course or examination to apply for the expert-level certification.
- Professionals with less than one year of experience: You will be awarded the BCCP certification upon completing your qualifying examination.
How is the Course Structured?
Participants will enjoy a structured and thorough understanding of the ISO 22301 business continuity management (BCM) system, which will help them implement and maintain their BCM plans.
The course is based on the globally recognized 7 BCM Body of Knowledge or BCM implementation methodology.
Essential strategies for developing business continuity (including disaster recovery) will be shared. Design and implementation of BC plans will also be facilitated in a hands-on one-day workshop (during the second day of the course). Tips and best practices for preparing and conducting awareness and training programs are also part of the curriculum.
It is helpful to highlight that the BCM-5000 ISO22301 BCMS Expert Implementer course is the BCM-300 ISO22301 BCMS Implementer course combined with the BCM-400 ISO22301 BCMS Manager course.
Though this course is aligned with the ISO 22301 BCMS standard, knowing that you are applying good international practices is always helpful.
For participants whose organization is regulated, this course will allow you to focus on implementing a practical BCM project and establishing it as a BCM program.
Course Overview
The skills they would gain include project management, risk analysis and review, business impact analysis, recovery strategy, plan development, testing and exercise, and program management.
On completion of the course, participants should have acquired the skills and understanding to be able to drive complex BCM programs and BC projects for the entire organization. A 3-1/2 hour, 150 online MCQ examination would be administered at the end of the course to test their understanding of the concepts taught.

- Identify possible threats that may disrupt critical business functions in the organisation.
- Strengthen organisational resiliency to counter major incidents and disasters.
- Identify and analyse business requirements to recover critical business functions.
- Develop business continuity and recovery strategies.
- Develop and implement comprehensive BC plans (Both corporate and business unit level)
- Create and develop a BCM awareness and training programme.
- Conduct exercises and tests.
- Implement BCM audit and assessment programmes to ensure the effectiveness of the BC plan.
- Drive organisation-wide BCM program.
- Ensure effective program management on an ongoing basis.

BCM Certification
The Business Continuity Certified Expert (BCCE) Certification will be awarded to participants who complete and pass the Qualifying BCCE examination provided by the course.
Te successful candidate will send in an application detailing at least three years of BC experience, pay the application processing fee of SGD 150, and satisfy the experience requirements of the independent certification body.
