When managing a Pandemic Influenza or Infectious Disease, there is a need to have an organisation structure.  Most organisation should continue to operate with its existing structure, namely, the crisis management team and the business continuity management team.

Crisis Management Team

The Crisis Management Team (CMT) is responsible for providing the overarching direction in managing any crisis.

Pandemic Influenza and Infectious Diseases Taskforce

The Infectious Diseases Taskforce comprises Business Units that provide key support activities in ensuring the organization's preparedness for the Infectious Diseases outbreak:

  1. Business Continuity (BCM) Team
    The BCM Team is responsible for the overall coordination of the Infectious Diseases Preparedness Planning in the organization.
  2. Human Resources (HR)
    The Health and safety of staff is the key area of concern for HR. HR will be responsible for ensuring staff safety and health, travel policies, Infectious Diseases awareness and education, and internal communication with staff.
  3. Facilities (FAC)
    The facilities management shall ensure the cleanliness of primary and alternate premises, supplies and logistics, and supply of isolation rooms.
  4. Information Technology (IT)
    The IT Department shall utilise technology to implement policies and ensure adequate IT resource capacity to cater for Infectious Diseases usage patterns.
  5. Corporate Communications (CC)
    The corporate communication shall draft communications with the media/public in the event of infection or premises closure.
