Mapping, Processes and Resources
  • Think of it as creating a blueprint. It's identifying and documenting the essential elements that make your critical business services function.
  • These are the activities and steps your team takes to deliver those services. Imagine a recipe - each step is a process that leads to the final product (your service).
  • Everything your processes rely on to run smoothly. This includes people with their skills, technology systems, facilities, information, and even third-party service providers.
Inter-dependencies
  • These are the connections between your processes and resources. For instance, a process might depend on a specific software program (resource) to function.
Inter-connections
  • This is similar to interdependencies but on a broader scale. It refers to how different processes rely on each other and how resources are shared. Imagine a flowchart where each box represents a process, and the arrows show how they connect and depend on each other.
Mapping Inter-connections and Inter-dependencies
  • This is the heart of your application. Here, you'll visually represent how your processes, resources, and connections work together to deliver your critical services.

Visualizing these connections will help you better understand your operational resilience. This will help you identify potential weaknesses and develop mitigation plans, strengthening your certification application.
