Evidence of Work Done

[3] When was it done? MM-YYYY to MM-YYYY

[1] What was performed? Per the specific OR BoK?

Detail the particular operational resilience practices you implemented.  This is in line with the content of the OR BoK that you learned during the course.

(Estimate of a minimum of 200 words)

[2] How was it carried out?

This is a write-up of your actual implementation and contribution to the specific OR BoK within your organisation. You must demonstrate the completion of these particular OR practices.

(Estimate of a minimum of 200 words)

Please elaborate on the duration of the OR BoK. Was it over three years for ORCE and over one year for ORCS?

In addition, here's how you may want to consider the following when describing your content: What was performed? and How was it carried out?

1. Contextualize: Briefly establish the specific project or organization where you applied the principles.

2. Map stages to experience: Link each step in "Analyse gap" to a concrete example from your work.

3. Provide evidence: Support your claims with tangible proof, such as:

  • Documents: Risk assessments, reports, meeting minutes, and project plans.
  • Metrics: Quantitative data demonstrating impact (e.g., risk score reduction).
  • Testimonials: References from colleagues or project stakeholders.

ORCS and ORCE Apply for Certification4. Quantify duration: Mention your time at each stage, highlighting your dedicated engagement.

5. Go beyond the minimum: While meeting specific standards of BoK expectations is essential, demonstrate how you exceeded them by adding further value. Did you develop innovative approaches? Lead a team through the process? Share such advancements to showcase your initiative and leadership.

Identify Potential Threats

No organization is immune to disruption. Conduct a thorough risk assessment to pinpoint potential threats and vulnerabilities

  • Disruptive Events: What events could disrupt your operations (e.g., cyberattacks, natural disasters)?
  • Likelihood and Impact: Analyze the probability and potential severity of each threat.
  • Existing Controls: Are there existing safeguards in place to mitigate these risks?
Bridging the Gap

Now comes the heart of the analysis!  Compare your risk assessment findings with your current OR program:

  • Current Policies and Procedures: How well do your existing practices address identified risks?
  • Controls and Mitigation Strategies: Are there gaps in your current controls that leave your organization exposed?
Building Your Action Plan

A gap analysis is only valuable if it leads to action! Develop a roadmap to address the identified gaps:

  • Actionable Initiatives: Create specific actions to improve your OR program based on your findings.
  • Ownership and Accountability: Assign clear ownership for each action item to ensure implementation.
  • Timelines and Milestones: Set realistic timelines and milestones for implementing your action plan.

A well-defined gap analysis is a cornerstone of a robust OR program. Demonstrating your grasp of this process will show the certification reviewers your commitment to continuous improvement.
