Recovery Strategy

Recovery Location

Details of Recovery Strategy

Justification for Selected Recovery Strategy

11.1

Facility Management

4 hrs

Relocate operations to an alternate facility

Offsite Facility

In case of facility damage, SHINE will use an alternate location to resume operations. This includes prearranged agreements with nearby facilities to ensure a smooth transition.

Prearranged facilities with a similar setup allow for quick operations.

11.2

IT Systems Management

6 hrs

Restore IT systems from cloud backups

Cloud/ Offsite

Critical systems are regularly backed up to the cloud. Recovery involves restoring data and applications from these backups to a temporary setup.

Cloud backup ensures rapid recovery without dependency on physical site availability.

11.3

Telecommunication Services

2 hrs

Switch to an alternate telecommunications provider

Remote Locations

Contracts with secondary telecommunication providers are in place. Recovery includes routing communications through an alternative provider if the primary services fail.

Ensures minimal disruption to communication, vital for operational continuity.

11.4

Data Centre Management

12 hrs

Failover to the disaster recovery data centre

Offsite Data Centre

A secondary data centre is maintained with the same configuration as the primary. Data and applications are replicated, allowing for failover during a crisis.

Ensures business continuity by providing an immediate alternate data centre for system recovery.

11.5

Service Support and Vendor Management

12 hrs

Engage pre-approved vendors for immediate support

Vendor Locations

Agreements with key vendors are in place, ensuring immediate engagement for system repairs or the procurement of essential services or equipment.

Pre-approved vendors reduce support delays and minimise operational downtime.
