IB [BL-DR] [3-5] Module 2 Assignment Requirement

This is the requirement for assignments for the blended training. 

It spells out the submission of two assignments (consisting of 4 sets of templates) for Module 2 of the BL-DR-5 blended learning course or the DRP-5000 onsite training.

Assignment 1

 

IB [BL-DR] [3-5] [M2] Assignment RequirementBlended Learning.  There is a requirement for the participants to download and complete the two assignments, namely IT RAR and AIA.

Instructor to note that the participants are expected to complete these two (IT RAR and AIA) templates before attending the course. The instruction to participants is as appended below.

After a walkthrough of the content during your online workshop, the participants are expected to present their completed IT RAR and AIA templates to the online workshop for discussion.

The expectation of Submission:  The participant is expected to complete:

  • IT RAR: Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 of the RAR templates.
  • AIA: At  least two critical business functions for all the pages in the BIA templates

Onsite Training. Participants will be notified to download the five sets of templates with the links issued by the Program Admin team before the workshop.  This assignment is completed during the class.

The objective of Module 2 Session 1 [M2-S1]

  • IT Risk Analysis and Review (IT RAR)
    • Identify potential threats that may disrupt business functions within the organisation.

  • Application Impact Analysis (AIA)
    • Determine prioritised activities based on their recovery objectives, impacts and inter-dependencies

Participants have access to Guidance Notes when they are completing the RAR template prior to attending your online lesson. Click the icon on the right to view the Guidance Notes for RAR.

When they are completing the RAR templates, participants are expected to ask you regarding the detailed requirement for their assignment.  The additional notes appended below is provided to them during the Module 2 introduction.  It includes the Guidance Notes from BCMPedia to guide them to complete each entry in the RAR templates and the note below as instruction for the minimum requirement when submitting their assignment.

 

Application Impact Analysis (AIA)
Do note that the participants are provided with this set of instructions to complete their AIA templates.

List several business functions from your business unit and select at least two business functions that you think maybe critical to your organisation to complete the entire template.  You can also choose business functions from the other tasks within your organisation because the functions are not critical.

Insert at least two functions into the BIA templates that you have downloaded to start your assignment.  Click the icon on the right to view the Guidance Notes for BIA.

Assignment 2

Blended Learning.  There is no requirement for the participants to complete any assignment for Module 2 Session 2.

Instructor to note that the participants are expected to understand that IT DR Strategy is driven by RTO and RPO derived from the BIA and AIA,

After a walkthrough of the content during your online workshop, the participants are expected to understand that with the confirmation of the RPO/RTO, an RFP is usually initiated to invite the IT vendor to implement the system.

Module 2 Session 2 [M2-S2]

  • Develop DR Strategies
  • Select DR Services
  • Establish a DR Plan
    • Understand the content and structure of a DR Plan

 

Submission of Assignment

Assignment:  Note that the M2-S2 instructor will be assigned to review and comment on the eCampus email.  The participants are expected to submit two working days after your M2-S2 session, and the Program Admin team will be notifying you of the availability of the assignments to be reviewed. 

As a guide for M2-S1 and M2-S2 instructors, the participants will download their templates from this Module that you are viewing now and upload them back to this portal.  The rule is to submit two working days after your session.

Remind the student to submit their completed Assignment as assignments after the class.  The deadline is two calendar days after the Module 2 Session 2 class.

Onsite Training.  There is no requirement to submit assignments for M2-S2 except to discussion in class.

Blended Learning. Participants are required to submit (upload) the two assignments via the "Upload" module in eCampus, and this is to be reviewed by the Facilitator.
