[BL-OR-5] Module (Day) 4 of OR-5000 Operational Resilience Expert Implementer

You have completed Module 3, project planning or "Plan" phase of the operational resilience planning methodology.  We understand some participants have already "kick-off" their OR project but it is useful to revisit the "plan" phase again.  Module 4 of the OR-400/5000 course aims to develop the operational resilience program's program management or "Sustain" phase.

Module 4 consists of 2 three-hour online sessions for the blended learning course or Day 4, a 1-day onsite course.  It is the culmination of the OR-5000 course, where participants must put all their learning from the past three modules into practice.  This session will deploy and consolidate the building blocks to sustain the operational resilience program via the "Sustain" phase of the OR Planning Methodology.

Upon completion of Module 4, the participant will attempt the Qualifying Operational Resilience Certified Expert (ORCE) Examination.

Description of Module [Day] 4 Course

IC_BL-OR-5_Module 4

Module 4, or Day 4 of the course, is designed to develop the "Sustain" competency of the appointed operational resilience team leader.

The last three modules, starting with Module 1, are about understanding the OR concept. They are followed by the "implement" phase of the OR planning methodology before we start the "Plan" phase of the OR program.

Module 4 wraps up the "Sustain" phase, forming the final "Manage" competency training set.

New call-to-actionThe "Sustain" phase of the operational resilience planning methodology is designed for the participants to learn the steps to manage and sustain your organization's operational resilience program synchronized with the support of the OR blocks discussed in the previous modules.

BL-OR-5 M4 Course Requirement OR-5000

The last module prepares for the long-term challenges of sustaining the operational resilience program.

Business continuity, crisis management, and operational risk practitioners assigned to this role may need to understand the vital foundational items and activities required to continuously improve the operational resilience framework and practical guidance on their content and implementation.

Attempting to make the cultural change with the wrong structure is the start of this program's wrong footing.

Underestimating the communication protocols and raising OR awareness is another primary concern that needs serious consideration even when starting this program.

Most approaches articulated in the public domain focus on the "implement" phase of the OR methodology, as it is assumed that the "plan" and "sustain" will automatically fall in place.
