[DR-4] What is a DRP-400 IT Disaster Recovery Manager Course?

As we return to normal after COVID-19, participants at BCM Institute are asking our participants:  Should I attend the two-day "brick-and-mortar" or "onsite" or the blended learning (100% online) advanced level disaster recovery course: IT Disaster Recovery" [DRP-400]  course? that stretches for four weeks?"

What are their differences? What should I know before enrolling on either of these courses? You are now viewing the final two modules of an advanced-level IT disaster recovery course.

Attending the DRP-300 course is a prerequisite that will help you be grounded in IT Disaster Recovery fundamentals before understanding the disaster recovery concepts and processes to develop and implement the IT DR plan.

Finally, you will be expected to understand what encompasses your IT DR Programme's continuous maintenance or upgrading.

Overview of IT Disaster Recovery Manager

New call-to-actionDRP-400, or the "IT Disaster Recovery Manager" course, is available both fully online and on-site.  It is also Module 3 and 4 of the IT DR Expert Implementer course.

This 100% online or blended learning approach combines online educational materials and virtual interaction between the facilitator and participants.  As opposed to our physical "brick-and-mortar" course, participants now have some degree of control of the class regarding its time, place, path, or pace.

Please be informed that you must complete the DRP-300 DR Implementer course or DR-3 before starting the DRP-400 course.

Hybrid vs Blended Learning IT DRDespite being virtual or online, there is a balance between knowledge-based acquisition activities, presentations, discussions, exercises, and case studies.

About two-thirds of the time is spent on activity-based learning. You are expected to complete live templates and be able to discuss and review them with our expert facilitators.

What are the Differences and Concerns Between Onsite and Online?

Concerns: The primary concern with blended learning (100% online) is that it will be another direct conversion to eLearning training over a video channel. The entire process is designed such that the content will provide the same outcome.

Instructors: Note that the instructors delivering the modules remain the same as those who deliver the on-site training. You will learn from more than three instructors who manage IT DR programs in their own organisations.

International Participation: Another significant change will be the participation of more international delegates than the traditional majority of Asian participants. Participants will be expected to discuss and work as teams from around the world. The richness in sharing has always been the strength of our courses.

Readings: More pre-readings should be expected as the objective is to ensure that knowledge that could be acquired via reading should be done outside the training session.  More time is allocated to share experiences from the participants and facilitators.
