Attend the Planner Level (BCM-200) Course: ISO 22301 BCMS Planner

BCM Institute’s introductory 1-day foundation course on the fundamentals of the international ISO22301 standard for BCMS and Business Continuity Management (BCM).

It gives the participant a grounding in the ISO22301 of BCM best practices released in May 2012.  It was further revised when the standard was updated in 2019.

The course prepares the participants with the framework and guidelines for companies, large or small, to move to a higher level of preparedness to lessen the impact of natural or man-made disruptions.

This is a 100% online course, Module 1 of the BCM-300 and BCM-5000 courses.

Note: BCM Institute recommends that the participants who would like to function effectively as unit coordinators complete the BCM-300 course, which is an additional module (2) to this module.

The primary objective of this self-paced course is to provide a comprehensive overview of the entire business continuity management domain of knowledge.

The course would cover the following topics, and the participants should be able to:

  • Understand the function and purpose of the ISO22301 Business Continuity Management (BCM) standard for BCMS.
  • Translate the requirements of ISO22301 and its applicability to your organization's business functions.
  • Articulate key BCM concepts and terms to your management, business partners, suppliers and/or colleagues.
  • Walkthrough each phase of the BCM planning methodology.
  • Understand the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) implementation under ISO22301 or relevant BCM standards.

Bridging Over to Intermediate/ Advanced level Certification Program to BCM-300 and BCM-500

If you are appointed or designed BCM responsibilities, please enrol in the intermediate or advanced level training.  There is no pre-requisite for the courses.

  • Senior management with BCM responsibilities requires a more comprehensive understanding of BCM.
  • Anyone new to the BCM and/or ISO22301 must understand the BCM Programme well.
  • If you have been tasked to spearhead or assist in the ISO22301 implementation initiatives within your organization.
  • If you have been recently assigned BCM coordination responsibilities for your business unit.
  • Any employees or consultants in EHS, Security,  Human Resources, IT, Risk & Compliance functions.
  • If you are a business partner or service provider of essential services to any organization of which, the disruption of such a service provided by you would be of catastrophic consequences for that organization.

BCM Certification

The Business Continuity Certified Planner (BCCP) Certification is awarded to participants who complete and pass the Qualifying BCCP examination attached to the course.
