This is a sample template for developing a typical BIA report.

Scope

  • Consider business functions and IT applications and system
  • List the interviewees by business function or IT system

Findings

  • Identify list of critical business functions and priority of recovery
  • Identity impact of loss by business functions (hard/soft)
  • Identity support services by business function and IT system
  • Identify inter-dependencies between various business functions/systems

Conclusion

  • Approve crucial business functions and minimum resources needed to recover these functions

  • Confirm the Executive Management’s commitment in terms of actions
  • Seek permission to proceed with next phase of the BCM planning process
