Overview of "Training-led Crisis Management Implementation" with an Option to Implement or Update Your CM Program

If you read this article, you are probably preparing to implement your CM project or initiate a CM program update for your organisation.

You face challenges completing the implementation or update within a reasonable budget.  What is being introduced to you in this article is to allow:

  • The CM Program Lead or the designated CM Project Manager must have a formal structure for the implementation project. Click the icon for the " CM Program Lead " definition.
  • The appointed department or CM Program Team Members must be trained and CM-competent. Click the icon for the "CM Program Team Members" definition.
  • CM Program Team Members must accurately complete and submit or update their unit-level inputs to the CM Program Lead for compilation.

Suppose you are the appointed CM Program Lead. In that case, one common concern is that you need to better assess the accuracy of submitting the respective inputs from the Crisis Management Planning Team. You need professional help to get a second opinion on the submissions. Hence, the deployment of highly qualified CM facilitators for this CM-300 course.

Remember, this is a training course, not a consultancy project. BCM Institute provides all non-training activities, such as content reviews and consultations, as value-adding services, and the organisation is not charged for them.

This first part explains how this CM implementer course can be used to implement or update the CM project and programme.

Training-led CM Implementation.  This series is part of the reading for appointed CM project manager or CM Prorgam Lead and participants (or CM Prorgam Team Members) embarking on a CM implementation or updating of the existing CM program using a combination of training facilitated by an experienced CM professional team to develop, implement and finalise its CM program for an organisation.

Each CM planning phase will consist of 3-hour online/onsite workshops.  There will be two such sessions.  Click the icon for the "CM Planning Methodology" definition.

Advanced Caution to CM Program Lead: The organisation needs to be prepared for the pre-workshop readings and preparation before attending the three-hour course. Hence, management support to ensure that the participants deliver their submissions via assignments is essential for the success of this training-led CM implementation.

Participants must complete the template or update their previous submission before attending the next workshop.

Click the respective icons in the "Training-led CM Implementation" table below to learn more about the implementation process.

Module 2 will meet the requirements for the CM planning methodology's Phase:

  • Phase 2: Crisis Scenario Risk Assessment (CRA)
  • Phase 4: Crisis Management Strategy (CMS)
  • Phase 5: CM Plan Development (PD)

If you want more details about the course, such as the syllabus and the participant's expectations, read "Course Overview" and "Course Description".

Additional CM Support Work

Information is required to kick-start a working framework for the engagement when incorporating competency-based training as part of the overall CM project.

This includes one review of the CRA, CMS and PD submissions by the participants from each CM Team.

The CM Program Lead can compile the CRA, CMS, and PD submissions as a report and provide one review before the end of the last training session.

This additional support work, if needed, will be taken up separately with BCM Institute's program team.

CM Project Initiation Support Work (Optional)

This is the two-day or four-three-hour online session to set up the CM project. It is an inventory check of the existing BCM and related documentation.

If your organisation is implementing crisis management for the first time, you may want to have two to three key members attend the CM-420 course.  Alternatively, you may wish to attend the CM-5000 course.

We recommend that the appointed CM project team attend either course.
