Module 1 Assignment 1

 

Blended Learning.  There is a requirement for the participants to download and complete the two assignments, namely RAR and BIA.

Instructor to note that the participants are expected to complete these two templates before attending the course. The instructions to participants are as appended below.

After a walkthrough of the content during your online workshop, the participants are expected to present their completed RAR and BIA templates to the online workshop for discussion.

The expectation of Submission: The participant is expected to complete:

  • RAR: 1-1, 2-1 and 3-1 of the RAR templates.
  • BIA: Provide at least two critical business functions for page 1 to page 7 in the BIA template.

Onsite Training. Participants will be notified to download the five sets of templates (including these RAR and BIA templates) with the links issued by the Program Admin team before the workshop.  This assignment is completed during the class.

The objective of Module 1 Session 1 [M1-S1] Risk Analysis and Review (RAR)

  • Identify potential threats that may disrupt business functions within the organisation.

Assignment Requirement (RAR)

Participants have access to Guidance Notes when they are completing the RAR template prior to attending your online lesson. Click the icon on the right to view the Guidance Notes for RAR. In each of the individual pages of the guidance notes, there are additional instructions (at the bottom) specifically for this assignment.

When they are completing the RAR templates, participants are expected to ask you regarding the detailed requirement for their assignment.  The additional notes appended below are provided to them during the Module 2 introduction.  It includes the Guidance Notes from BCMPedia to guide them to complete each entry in the RAR templates and the note below as instruction for the minimum requirement when submitting their assignment.

 

Module 1 Session 2 [Assignment 2]

The objective of Module 1 Session 1 [M1-S2] Business Impact Analysis (BIA)

  • Determine prioritised activities based on their recovery objectives, impacts and inter-dependencies

Do note that the participants are provided with this set of instructions to complete their RAR templates.

List several business functions from your business unit and select at least two business functions that you think may be critical to your organisation to complete the entire template.  You can also choose business functions from the other tasks within your organisation because the functions are not critical.

[In-house] Insert at least two functions into the BIA templates that you have downloaded to start your assignment. 

[Training-led Implementation] Complete the entire template with actual functions from the participants' business units.

Submission of Assignment

Assignment: Note that the M1-S2 instructor will be assigned to review and comment on the eCampus email.  The participants are expected to submit two calendar days after your M1-S2 session, and the Program Admin team will be notifying you of the availability of the assignments to be reviewed. 

As a guide for M1-S1 and M1-S2 (usually the same) instructors, the participants will download their templates from this Module that you are viewing now and upload them back to this portal.  The rule is to submit two working days after your session.

Remind the student to submit their completed Assignment as assignments after the class.  The deadline is two calendar days after the Module 1 Session 2 class.

[In-house] Onsite Training. The participant is expected to submit the assignment in class.

[In-house] Blended Learning. Participants are required to submit (upload) the two assignments via the "Upload" module in eCampus, and this is to be reviewed by the Facilitator.
