The Staff Temperature Monitoring Log is a document given out to staff for them to record their temperature on a bi-daily basis.

Although used in all types of organizations during an infectious disease outbreak, a Staff Temperature Monitoring Log is an absolute necessity for organizations dealing directly with the infectious disease (e.g. hospitals, clinics), interacting frequently with a target demographic or age group that could be sensitive to the disease (e.g Nursing Homes, childcare centres)  or having direct contact with a huge amount of people across the room (e.g F&B).

Staff members are to take their temperature twice per day: once when they come into work, and once after lunch.

For any temperature reading above 38°C, staff should contact the Business Continuity/Flu Manager immediately. Context is also important when taking temperature: If a staff's temperature registers at 37.5°C in the afternoon after he returned from lunch after a hot day outside, letting him cool down for 5 minutes before retaking his temperature would be advised.
