# \[MTE\] \[November\] \[2026\] Reimagining Exercise Design with AI

You're viewing the **Meet the Expert 2026 Webinar Series**, a dedicated platform where industry leaders and subject matter specialists share critical insights on emerging risks, innovative solutions, and evolving best practices across operational risk, business continuity, crisis management, third-party risk management, resilience, and related disciplines.

This series is designed to keep professionals informed of how the risk and resilience landscape is changing—and, more importantly, what those changes mean in practice.

What if AI could help your BCM team design smarter, more engaging, and more challenging exercises? As organisations explore new ways to strengthen preparedness, AI presents opportunities to rethink how scenarios are developed, exercises are conducted, and lessons are captured.

Join BCM Institute’s **Meet-the-Expert webinar, “Reimagining Exercise Design with AI,”** on **26 November 2026**, as Norman Ramos shares perspectives on integrating AI into exercise design and explores how leadership, team capabilities, and organisational culture can turn new technology into meaningful improvements in resilience.

### Reimagining Exercise Design with AI: Preparing BCM Teams for the Future

#### Introduction

This session will be presented by **Norman Lorica Ramos, Principal Consultant and Trainer at Oil Spill Response Limited Singapore**.

How can Artificial Intelligence (AI) help organisations design more engaging, relevant, and effective business continuity and crisis management exercises? As AI tools become more accessible, BCM professionals have new opportunities to improve scenario development, create exercise materials, and explore different disruption scenarios. However, the value of AI depends on how well it is guided by professional judgement, organisational knowledge, and clear exercise objectives.

Join BCM Institute's upcoming Meet-the-Expert (MTE) webinar on **26 November 2026**, where Norman Ramos will explore how AI can support the evolution of exercise design. The session will also consider the human side of adoption: how leaders can prepare their BCM teams to work with AI, encourage experimentation, and build a culture that embraces continuous learning while maintaining appropriate oversight.

Norman Lorica Ramos is a Principal Consultant and Trainer at Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL), based in Singapore. He has over 18 years of combined experience in incident and crisis management, emergency response preparedness, training, and project management.

A Crisis Management Certified Expert (CMCE), he has supported incident and crisis management projects and training across multiple countries, including the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and Australia.

Norman previously shared his perspectives on crisis management testing and exercises at BCM Institute's May 2024 MTE, covering exercise objectives, scenario design, evaluation, human factors, and turning lessons learned into practical improvements.

This upcoming session extends the conversation by exploring how AI may support exercise development and how organisations can prepare their people to use these emerging tools effectively.

#### Synopsis

Effective business continuity and crisis management exercises require more than a well-written scenario. They need clear objectives, realistic challenges, appropriate participant engagement, and meaningful evaluation. AI offers new ways to support parts of this process, from generating initial scenario ideas and developing supporting materials to exploring alternative developments during an exercise.

In this session, Norman Ramos will explore how BCM professionals can rethink their approach to exercise design with AI as a supporting tool, rather than a replacement for human expertise. The discussion will also touch on preparing BCM teams to adopt AI responsibly, developing the skills to assess AI-generated content, and ensuring that exercises remain relevant to the organisation's risks, culture, and operational context.

The session will consider not only the potential of AI to improve efficiency and creativity, but also the importance of leadership, sound judgement, and a learning-oriented culture in making its use meaningful. The aim is to help practitioners consider where AI can add value while keeping exercise objectives, participant learning, and continuous improvement at the centre.

#### Why This Webinar Matters

Business continuity exercises can become routine if organisations rely on familiar scenarios and repeat established approaches without sufficiently challenging their assumptions. At the same time, designing meaningful exercises takes time, creativity, and a good understanding of the organisation's operating environment.

AI may help BCM teams explore new possibilities, develop exercise materials more efficiently, and consider a wider range of scenarios. However, its outputs still need to be reviewed, validated, and adapted by people who understand the organisation and its response capabilities.

Successful adoption also involves more than introducing a new tool. Leaders need to help teams develop the confidence and skills to use AI appropriately, encourage curiosity and experimentation, and reinforce a culture in which exercises are opportunities to learn and improve—not simply activities to complete.

This webinar offers an opportunity to consider how AI, professional expertise, and organisational culture can work together to support more effective exercise design and stronger preparedness.

#### Who Should Attend?

This webinar is relevant to professionals who are involved in designing, facilitating, evaluating, or improving business continuity and crisis management exercises, including:

- **Business Continuity and Crisis Management Professionals** who want to explore new approaches to exercise design and scenario development.
- **Risk and Resilience Practitioners** seeking ways to strengthen organisational preparedness through more effective exercises.
- **Exercise Designers and Facilitators** interested in using AI to support scenario development, exercise materials, and evaluation.
- **BCM Team Leaders and Managers** responsible for developing team capabilities and introducing new ways of working.
- **Senior Management and Organisational Leaders** interested in the role of AI, people, and culture in strengthening preparedness and continuous improvement.

#### Join Us for This Meet-the-Expert Session

Discover how AI may reshape the way organisations design and conduct exercises—and what BCM teams need to do to prepare for this change.
