DR Planning is about being prepared to continue your application and telecommunication systems to support the organisation's critical business function when a disaster occurs and to rebuild your business organization after a disaster to provide continuity in customer service at a minimum acceptable level, particularly in the provision of information and communication systems.

#### Establish the Need for DR Planning
DR Planning is about being prepared to rebuild your business organization after a disaster to provide continuity in customer service at a minimum acceptable level, particularly in the provision of information and communication systems.
Business organizations are driven by business processes, which are chains of activities that are executed across business units.
Each organization consists of an integration of business processes, the participants in these processes, and the infrastructure and resources supporting these business processes. Computer systems and networks play a critical role in linking the organization, internally between its various business units, and externally with customers and suppliers. The loss of this capability has dire consequences for the organization.
