This is the overview of the BCM planning methodology. It forms part of the speaker's presentation for the MOM SGSecure seminar on "Business Continuity Plans in the Workplaces" on 27 Feb 2023. 

This second set of readings aims to allow the speakers to provide an overview of Business Continuity Management (BCM), which encompasses the BCM aspect of the SGSecure initiative. For consistency in my presentation, the word "Business Continuity Planning" (BCP) will be replaced by "Business Continuity Management" (BCM).

Chapter 1: Ensuring Business Resilience: A Comprehensive Guide to Business Continuity Management

 
This eBook outline offers a roadmap for Business Continuity Management (BCM) professionals to design and implement a successful BCM program.
 
It emphasises the importance of BCM in ensuring organisational resilience against various disruptions.

  1. Project Management (PM)
  2. Risk Analysis and Review (RAR)
  3. Business Impact Analysis (BIA)
  4. BC Strategy Development (BCS)
  5. BC Plan Development (PD) and implementation
  6. Testing and Exercising (TE)

Each phase plays a critical role, and the outline assigns specific responsibilities to BC Professionals within each stage.

Following this outline and understanding their role throughout the BCM planning methodology, BC planning can establish a BCM program that safeguards the organisation's critical business functions and promotes long-term success.

The target audience for this eBook is appointed BCM Managers and Professionals.  The overall goal is to provide a comprehensive guide to BCM that addresses the specific concerns and needs of BC Professionals.
