Who is Ruzita Rashid?

Ruzita is an accomplished leader in operational risk management and information security, currently serving as the Director of Operational Risk Management and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at MUFG Bank (M) Berhad. Since joining the bank in 2007 as an Information Security Manager, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic vision, particularly in the establishment and enhancement of operational risk components that meet both regulatory requirements and the expectations of the Parent Bank.

Under her guidance, the Operational Risk Management Department has successfully integrated robust frameworks and policies, notably in cybersecurity and business continuity management (BCM). Ruzita spearheaded the development of a Business Continuity Management Framework aligned with ISO 22301 standards, ensuring the bank's resilience against disruptions.

Her extensive responsibilities encompass Business Continuity Management, Outsourcing Management, Product Review, and Information Security, including cybersecurity and Shariah risk management. Ruzita’s expertise also extends to internal inspections, further solidifying the bank’s risk management capabilities.

Ruzita began her career at Affin Bank Berhad, where she worked in the IT Security Administration Department. There, she gained valuable experience in technical writing and the development of security documentation, creating policies and frameworks that set the foundation for the bank's information security standards. She led the Systems Security Team, gaining hands-on experience in server hardening, security event monitoring, and vulnerability assessments, ultimately advancing to Head of the IT Security Department.

Ruzita holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computer Science from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the Open University. She is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Planner (BCCP), and holds an Associate Qualification in Islamic Finance (AQIF) as well as ITIL certification. With a strong commitment to excellence in risk management and cybersecurity, Ruzita continues to drive innovation and best practices within the banking sector.
