[EP Readiness Exercise] Workshop Course Outline: Day 1

Course Outline for Day One

Th first day of the workshop aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to understand the structure of the emergency response plan and to develop the plan.  The detailed outline is:

• Understand the purpose of emergency response (plans) and Business Continuity Management (BCM)
• Understand key components in managing a pandemic outbreak, haze and fire based on authorities’ guidelines and regulations
• Know how to design and develop emergency preparedness response plan and manage Emergency Response Programme (pandemic, haze and fire)
• Have a good understanding of what should be included in the plan:
  • Emergency Preparedness organisational structure
  • Threats, risk analysis and risk treatment
  • Business impact analysis
  • Escalation and response at different DORSCON level (for pandemic) and PSI level (for haze)
  • List of relevant documents/records
  • Testing and exercising the plans
  • How to organize the plan
