[Business Continuity Management Institute (BCM Institute)](http://www.bcmpedia.org/wiki/Business_Continuity_Management_Institute_(BCM_Institute)) Glossary in Wiki or BCMpedia provides [Business Continuity (BC)](http://www.bcmpedia.org/wiki/Business_Continuity_(BC)), [Crisis Management (CM)](http://www.bcmpedia.org/wiki/Crisis_Management), [Crisis Communication (CC)](http://www.bcmpedia.org/wiki/Crisis_Communication), [BCM Audit,](http://www.bcmpedia.org/wiki/Audit) [Disaster Recovery (DR)](http://www.bcmpedia.org/wiki/Disaster_Recovery) and [Operational Resilience (OR)](https://www.bcmpedia.org/wiki/Operational_Resilience) professionals with definitions that help to reduce confusion, thus promoting a shared understanding and interpretation when implementing the [BCM planning process](http://www.bcmpedia.org/wiki/BCM_Planning_Process_or_Methodology). The scope is highlighted as the [BCM "Umbrella](https://blog.bcm-institute.org/blog/what-exactly-is-business-continuity-management)".

#### Six Core Glossary

The glossary aimed to support the institute's [six core training](https://www.bcm-institute.org) and certification offerings.  They are:

- \[A\] [BCM Audit](http://www.bcmpedia.org/wiki/Audit)
- \[B\] [Business Continuity (BC)](http://www.bcmpedia.org/wiki/Business_Continuity_(BC))
- \[C\] [Crisis Management (CM)](http://www.bcmpedia.org/wiki/Crisis_Management)
- \[CC\] [Crisis Communication (CC)](http://www.bcmpedia.org/wiki/Crisis_Communication)
- \[D\] [IT Disaster Recovery (DR)](http://www.bcmpedia.org/wiki/Disaster_Recovery)
- \[OR\] [Operational Resilience (OR)](https://www.bcmpedia.org/wiki/Operational_Resilience)

This open-source or publicly available Wikipedia for BCM or BCMpedia has become the standardization for the learning of our participants.  Similar definitions were also appended from the glossaries published by other institutes and related international standards and bodies in each key definition.

While a defined word or phrase can have several other meanings or connotations, especially in its usage and interpretation, this BCM Institute's BCMpedia will provide one of the closest definitions. It is also the most comprehensive set of BCM definitions, including key definitions from other sources. The definition will also include similar terms used by ISO [ISO22301](http://www.bcmpedia.org/wiki/ISO22301).

#### New Addition to Glossary

As we move toward the resilience path, BCMPedia has also included the related BCM glossary, such as [supply chain BCM](http://www.bcmpedia.org/wiki/Supply_Chain_BCM_Glossary), [pandemic influenza or infectious diseases,](http://www.bcmpedia.org/wiki/Pandemic_Flu_Glossary)  [cyber security](http://www.bcmpedia.org/wiki/Cyber_Security_Glossary) (incident response), and, lately, operational resilience.
