Alvin Shi is a seasoned business continuity and crisis management professional with over a decade of hands-on experience spanning telecommunications, financial services, and FMCG sectors. Currently, he is the Associate Director, Business Continuity Management at the
Royal Bank of Canada. Before RBS, he led the Business Continuity Management Division at TIME dotCom Berhad, where he is instrumental in shaping organisational resilience strategies and driving enterprise-wide continuity initiatives.
With a strong foundation in engineering and extensive industry experience, Alvin is well-versed in risk assessments, crisis communications, and disaster recovery planning. Before his current role, he served in key positions at TNG Digital Sdn Bhd, FGV Holdings Berhad, Maxis Mobile Services, Ericsson, and Nokia Siemens Networks Malaysia, where he spearheaded projects in BCM governance, product implementation, and mobile network operations.
Alvin holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and is a Certified Business Continuity Practitioner (DRI), with additional credentials in ITIL Foundation for IT Service Management. His pragmatic approach and commitment to resilience have made him a trusted advisor in navigating today’s volatile and uncertain business landscape.
