[BL-OR-5] FAQ on OR Expert Course

Understand that you are considering the "blended learning" approach to completing the OR-5000 Operational Resilience Implementer course. When you are reading this FAQ, it is assumed that you have seen the traditional place-based classroom OR-5000 course. 

Here are some FAQs that might help you answer some of your queries on this blended learning course.

Should I attend OR-300 or OR-5000?

[BL-OR] [3-4-5] What is BL-OR-5 Course?[BL-OR] [3] What is BL-OR-3 Course?If you are exploring to understand the fundamentals of operational resilience, this is the course to attend.

However, if you are designated as part of the OR project or program team, proceed to attend the OR-5000 course.  The OR Expert Implementer or OR-5000 course will provide the participants with a complete framework to plan for the OR initiative, implement the OR program, and sustain the OR program.

For our colleagues operating in financial institutions, OR-5000 should be your pre-requisite.

What is included in the course fee?

When you are attending the course, the fee of Singapore Dollar (SGD) 3,850 includes:

During the course:
  • Access to the complete set of soft copy templates.
    • Note that hard copies of the templates are only provided for a classroom-based course.
After the course:
  • The award of an ORCP e-certificate (upon completion of module 4 and passing the examination conducted at the end of the course)
  • Review of assessments
  • ORCE application processing fees

However, the ORCE application must be completed within three months from the notification of passing the OR-5000 course.

An application processing fee of SGD 150 will be payable for the application for ORCE certification.  Please opt for processing fees to be included as part of the invoice if you are applying for the specific certification.

Do I have to complete Module 1 first before joining theFAQ_ORCE rest of the Modules?
  • Yes. Modules 1 and 2 are compulsory as they form the initial assessment for the "grounding" of operational resilience knowledge.  
  • Once you have completed Module 1, you will attend Module 2, 3 and 4.
  • The successful completion of the course will allow the participants to be awarded the "Operational Resilience Certified Planner" certification.
  • The participant will apply for their ORCS or ORCE based on their relevant experience with Operational Resilience or related experiences, such as business continuity management, crisis management, IT disaster recovery or cybersecurity.

Do I need to complete the ORCE exam while attending a Blended Learning course?
  • Yes
I noticed that the course is held at Asian Timing, is there any timing for me as I reside outside the Asia Pacific Region?
  • The timing of the sessions is catered for two zones:
    • US/ Europe/ Middle East
    • Asia Pacific

    Class Starting at 2 pm (GMT+8).  Beware of daylight saving at your region.
  • The time of the 3-hour online workshop is set at Singapore Timing, which is Greenwich Meridian Time (GMT) + 8 hours.
    • 14:00 (pm) Singapore (SG) Time is 11:30 (am) as Mumbai is GMT+5.5 Hours
    • 22:00 (pm) Singapore (SG) Time is 17:00 (pm) as Kenya is GMT-5 Hours
  •  [BL-OR] [3-4-5] View ScheduleClass Starting at 9 pm (GMT+8).  The course schedule or "RUN" will have an "A" suffix e.g. RUN 4A. Beware of daylight saving at your region.
    9:00 (pm) Singapore (SG) Time is 1 pm as London is GMT+0 Hours
    9:00 (pm) Singapore (SG) Time is 9 am as New York is GMT-12 Hours

What Certificates will I be Receiving Upon Competing in the course?

ORCP Operational Resilience Certified Planner CertificationAs the blended learning course OR-5000 is conducted over eight weeks (elasped), you will be expected to receive a certificate of completion (COC) and an initial "Operational Resilience Certified Planner" certification on completion of the course.
