# \[BL-DR-3\] \[M2-E\] DRP-5000 Disaster Recovery Expert Implementer \[BL-DR-5\]
Below is the detailed course curriculum and objective of Module 2 of DRP-5000 Blended Learning course. It details the course content of Module 2 of the course would be conducted.
Blended Learning (BL), in Module 2, you are required to complete a validated project work for the final assessment.
However, participant receiving CITREP+ funding from Singapore's IMDA will be attempting the Qualifying Disaster Recovery Certified Expert (DRCE) Examination.

#### Description of Module \[Day\] 2 Course
[](https://cta-redirect.hubspot.com/cta/redirect/3893111/ea43dd96-113d-4348-95ce-cc1c11524c04)Module 2 aims to provide the participants with the knowledge to identify and categorise different types of disaster through IT DR risk assessment techniques.
This forms a foundation of the disaster recovery process. To enhance the learning experience, participants will have the opportunity to work through an **IT DR risk assessment** template and present their work in class.
Participant will be shown how a typical **business impact analysis** report looks like and how the content related to the disaster recovery strategy. It is important to understand the process of accessing this document from the organisation BCM team.
Common **disaster recovery strategies** in response to the various disaster scenarios will be shared with students, and concepts will be reinforced using provided templates, discussions and presentations.
Module 2 will also provide an overview of the contents of a **IT DR plan**, and how students can go about documenting the plan based on the disaster strategies developed earlier. Various components of the DR plan are discussed, along with emphasis on several key emergency procedures and SOPs.

| **Understand Purpose of Business Impact Analysis** | - Learn how critical business functions, product and service are analysed and prioritized - Understand the retrieval of the BIA report from the BCM team |
| **Select IT DR Strategy** | - Understand types of disaster, business continuity and recovery strategy in response to the various disaster scenarios - Execute steps and options for IT DR communication strategy - Select appropriate IT DR communication strategy |
| **Implement IT DR Plan** | - Determine major DR plan component and its design - Develop DR plan and procedures - Identify emergency and disaster responses - Understand DR plan content and templates - Implement IT DR communications strategy |
| **Exercise and Test IT DR Plan** | - Categorize basic and advanced level tests - Implement notification test and tabletop exercises - Execute DR team level exercises - Develop test plan, scenario and evaluation criteria - Relate to ISO 22390 Societal Security - Guidelines for Exercises and Testing. |
