What Are You Required to Complete for Module 3 for the Blended Learning?

Module 3: Web Training and Discussion Workshop

To complete Module 3 of the BL-CC-5 or Blended Learning CC-5000 course, participants are required to attend two 1/2 day session for module 3.

Sequence of A Typical 1/2 day Session

A typical walk through of each 1/2 day

 

Pre-reading [Maximum of one hour]y consists the following:

  1. Attending Facilitated Online Workshop [Maximum of two hour]
    • Includes class discussion

Pre-readings assigned are 2 blogs and 2 chapters of the Manager's Guide to Implementing Your Crisis Communication Plan. Participants are recommended to complete them before the facilitated online session. This serves as  'bite-sized' background information, allowing participants to familiarize themselves with the concepts to be discussed.  It would also assist participants in the completion of their assignment in the following  1 hour online session.

All participants of the Blended Learning CM-5000 course are to attend two 1-hour facilitated online training sessions.  Facilitated by an industry practitioner, the two 1-hour session

Developing and Updating Your Crisis Communication Team Structure

The development of the CC Team structure and the session will concentrate on the key roles and responsibilities of the Crisis Communication Team (CCT) and the teams supporting the corporate Crisis Management Team.

Establish and Manage Crisis Communication Execution

It discusses the bi-directional communication-led flow of information, to and from the CC Team, during the pre-crisis, during-crisis and the post-crisis phases, focusing on CC prevention planning, CC preparation, monitoring, response, resume and return to normalisation.

In this module, participants will be taught the crisis information flow and discusses how mechanisms for detecting potential crises can be set up, and vital information collected for assessment, processing and dissemination during the onset of a crisis.

 

Setup CC Operations within Command Centre

In this module, the key considerations for the setting up the CC team being co-located in the crisis command centre is emphasized. This includes the CC requirement and equipment when operating in the crisis command centre. 

Media Handling

Media handling during a crisis and key considerations for handling crisis communication will be addressed.   In addition, these are some of the good practices such as  CC response kit and use of social media during crisis communication.

The importance and good practices of crisis communications are discussed alongside key concepts and terminologies are discussed holistically. The lesson will also address interested parties and the strategies used to meet audience information needs.

Crisis Leadership

Lastly, the sharing of characteristics of crisis leadership and the various approach to assimilate to the crisis structure within your organisation is discussed in depth.

Both sessions are compulsory for anyone who has signed up for the Blended Learning CC-5000 (BL-CC-5) programme.
