Stage 2: Audit Fieldwork

This is the second stage of the BCM Audit Process. These are the two key activities in the Audit Fieldwork stage include:

  1. Pilot Fieldwork
  2. Audit Fieldwork

Key Deliverables


These are the deliverables for this stage of the BCM Audit process. They include:

  • Carrying out fieldwork as indicated in the audit plan.
  • Obtaining cooperation from the heads of the business units and their staff members to identify, obtain documentation and conduct interviews.
  • Conducting fieldwork with minimal disruption to business units’ operations; for example, whenever possible, obtain information from central sources rather than from business unit staff or line management.

[1] Pilot Fieldwork

The pilot audit fieldwork should commence with the following activities:

  • Conducting pre-audit confirmation
  • Reviewing of Client’s and Working Document.
  • Conducting pre-audit or opening meetings.
  • Revising standardizes audit program.
    •  The audit program should be completed during the earlier stage.
  • Hold focal group discussion if needed.
  • Undertaking initial fieldwork.
  • Identifying early (indicative) findings and revising the plan.

[2] Audit Fieldwork

Once the pilot fieldwork is completed, the audit team leader and the team members will start to:

  • Undertake fieldwork by Audit Plan.
  • Conduct the audit.
  • Document audit activities and findings.
  • Review and analyze audit findings.
  • Draft interim conclusions and recommendations.
  • Keep Auditee informed.
